Inkjet Printers have become so common that you can find them wherever you will have a computer. Mostly every person or organization that has a computer also has a printer. Inkjet printer came into existence around the later 1980’s and since than they have become very much popular.
Inkjet printers are the printer that uses inkjet cartridges which places very small droplets of ink onto to the paper to form the image. These dots are positioned so accurate that they print exactly the same thing that you see at your computer screen. The resolution of the printer is about 1440X720 DPI (Dots Per Inch). These dots also have different color combinations, so that they together form a photo quality image.
There are the two technologies that are used for printers that are as follows:
Impact Printers:
As the name suggests, these types of printers have the mechanism that touches the paper in order to create an image with impression. Following are the technologies that are used for this:
- DOT Matrix: Small pins striking the ink ribbon onto the paper and creating the image at that point.
- Character: A small bar having actual character embossed on their surface, the particular character struck the ink ribbon and print the character on the paper just like a computerized typewriter.
Non-Impact Printers:
These are printers that create the print or the image without touching the paper surface. There are two main printers that are widely used in offices or for personal use using this technology.
- Inkjet Printer: They are the printer that uses inkjet cartridges which uses nozzles to give out small droplets of ink onto the paper to form the image.
- Laser Printer: These printer uses laser toner that is powder based laser toner that uses electricity and heat as well to bond or place the ink with the paper to form the image.
